En 1927, SCHILDER décrit l’espèce Gisortia gigantea pterophora, Gastéropode du Lutétien inférieur du Bassin de Paris, à partir d’un plâtre provenant des collections du Naturhistorisches Museum de Vienne (Autriche). L’original de ce spécimen, considéré comme perdu depuis 1902, à été retrouvé. Nous publions les éléments de notre recherche et donnons de nouvelles figures de cette espèce que nous considérons comme un synonyme subjectif plus récent que Gisortia (s. str.) coombii (Sowerby in Dixon, 1850).

The original specimen of Gisortia gigantea pterophora Schilder, 1927 (Mollusca, Gastropoda, Cypraeoidea) found again.

Abstract      In 1927, SCHILDER described the species Gisortia gigantea pterophora gastropod from the Early Lutetian of Paris Basin, with a plaster cast deposit in the collection of the Naturhistorisches Museum of Vienna (Austria). The original specimen, considered as lost since 1902, is rediscovered. Details of the research of the original of the holotype and new figures of the species ar here given G. gigantea pterophora Schilder, 1927 is proposed as a subjective junior synonym of G (s. str.) coombii (Sowerby in Dixon, 1850).
